Valentines Day Style

Valentine’s Day is a little over a week away.  If your anything like me I will probably be ordering in sushi and my husband and I will be relaxing at home together watching a movie after the kids go to bed.

But who am I kidding it is always fun to get dolled up and wear a flirty red dress. So if your planning on a night out with your boyfriend, husband, girlfriends, or even staying home have fun and get dressed up.  You never know what it can lead to 😉

How to create a Knot Halter with your convertible dress

The knot halter is a sophisticated and elegant style that can be created with your convertible dress.

Knot Halter

1. Step into dress or place over head so that sashes are in the front.

2. Cross the sashes, take one sash strap and place it through the keyhole, as if you were going to create a knot (so there is no visible keyhole showing) and take the sashes over your shoulder.

3. Bring sashes down the back and create your desired back design.

4. Bring the sashes down and around your waist and tie/or tuck in the front or the back of your dress.

How to create a deep plunging neckline with your Convertible Dress

One of the best ways to turn heads this season is with a deep plunging neckline dress.  I noticed many of the dresses worn to the Emmy’s this year had deep plunging necklines.

If you have a wedding coming up, or an event you can create this look with your convertible dress.

Plunging Neckline

1. Step into dress or place over head so that the sashes are facing the front.

2. Pull dress down low so you can see your belly button.

3. Take sashes over the shoulders and bring sashes down the back and create desired back design

4. Bring the sashes down and around the waist and tie and/or tuck in front or back of dress.

You can show as much cleavage or as little cleavage with your convertible dress and truly create a style that you feel comfortable in.

What Bra and Undergarments to Wear with your Convertible Dress?

Finding the right undergarments for any dress can be a challenge. Here are a few of my favorite undergarments that work perfectly under our convertible dresses.

Spanx Super High Power $38: I have found that some of my customers will frown upon wearing Spanx.  Spanx is a necessity under any dress and for every body type! They tame your tummy and create a seamless, hourglass silhouette. Who doesn’t want that! The higher waist falls very close to your bust line, and when you wrap the dress, you can not see the line of the top of the Spanx.

 

Fashion Forms U-Plunge Backless Bra $40: This is a great adhesive bra option for our dresses. It is the deepest plunge, backless, strapless garment on the market. It has padding in it which offers the most cleavage and also comes with a detachable halter strap that lends additional security and support. This bra works really well for the Deep V style option. This bra also has a side clear sticky extension.

 

Nu Bra $35: This is another adhesive bra that works very well with our dresses. It is completely free of any strap extension. Washable, and reusable. Totally backless, strapless and invisible under any dress. It has a front closure for cleavage and lift. I tell my customers to wrap themselves in the style they are going to wear first, and then slip these on individually. (see video below) They do not even need to be clipped together. They stay in place and give you a smooth finish under your dress.

 

Hollywood Tape $10: The famous fashion tape! Easy-to-use, clear double-stick apparel and body tape. It is gentle on the skin, hypoallergenic and leaves no residue on fabrics. I don’t know about you, but I still can’t figure out how to use a safety-pin without it being seen. This is a much better option.

If you are busty and do not feel like any of these options will be good for you, your not out of luck! You can wear your strapless bra with our matching tube top!

How to create the knot shoulder style with your convertible dress

Today I will show you how to create the knot shoulder with your dress. The knot shoulder is one of my favorite styles because you can place the knot as high or as low as you want depending on your style preference.

KNOT SHOULDER

1. Step into dress or place over head so that sashes are facing the front.

2. Tie a single knot on each sash – knot can be as high or low as you like.

3. Bring sashes down the back and create desired back design – criss-cross, twist etc

4. Then bring the sashes down and around the waist and tie and/or tuck in front or back of the dress.

You can also twist the back of your dress to create a whole different back.

You can style the dress in a halter style as well. The possibilities are endless.
