How to create the knot shoulder style with your convertible dress

Today I will show you how to create the knot shoulder with your dress. The knot shoulder is one of my favorite styles because you can place the knot as high or as low as you want depending on your style preference.

KNOT SHOULDER

1. Step into dress or place over head so that sashes are facing the front.

2. Tie a single knot on each sash – knot can be as high or low as you like.

3. Bring sashes down the back and create desired back design – criss-cross, twist etc

4. Then bring the sashes down and around the waist and tie and/or tuck in front or back of the dress.

You can also twist the back of your dress to create a whole different back.

You can style the dress in a halter style as well. The possibilities are endless.

Mother’s Day is only a few weeks away, and finding the perfect gift can be challenging. Mothers are some of the most thoughtful and selfless people so the least we can do is to dedicate a day to them for all they have done.

Here are some gift ideas that will help take the challenge out of finding the perfect gift.

A new piece of jewelry on Mother’s Day is a gift your mother will not forget.  It can be something more expensive with diamonds, or it can be a personalized piece of jewelry.  A necklace with your initials, a ring with your name on it, or a bangle with an engraved note on it.  These are all pieces of jewelry you mother would cherish for years to come.

4. JEWELRY TRAY – Mom Jewelry TrayMama and Baby Jewelry Tray

A mama needs somewhere to put her jewelry.  A dainty jewelry tray to hold rings, trinkets and other small jewelry is a great gift.  Every time she takes off her jewelry it will be a reminder of how loved much she is loved and appreciated.

Please view the video as well as step by step instructions.

TWIST SHOULDER
1. Step into dress or place over head so that sashes are facing the front.

2. Take sashes over the shoulders then bring the sashes down and around back to the front of your dress.

3. Simply twist shoulders as desired.   The more you twist the less coverage you will have, and the less you twist the more coverage you will have.

4. Bring the sashes down and around the waist. Tie and/or tuck in front or back of dress.

There are many different ways to create different styles with the of the back of the dress  as well the front.

4 Tips for taking Maternity Photos

Maternity photos are a wonderful way to document your life during pregnancy. Hopefully, you’re enjoying the glow of pregnancy and want to capture it. However, even if you aren’t feeling your best, it doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t be photographed.

Here are some tips for taking maternity photos.

1. Location

First, decide on a location that you would like to take pictures. I have always preferred natural light and taking my pictures outside. However, some prefer the comfort and privacy of their own home and others prefer a studio for a more formal vibe. All three are great locations and your pictures will look beautiful.

2. Timing

The best time to schedule a maternity photoshoot is when the belly is large, but not too big. This is typically in Months 7 and 8. At this point your belly will be big and beautiful but not too big where it is hard to move around or pose for a picture.

3. Feeling Beautiful

I think the most important thing is that you feel beautiful, when we feel beautiful inside and out it will shine through in your photos. So buy the dress you love, get your hair done, and put on some makeup.

4. Attire

I suggest wearing a solid color, a pattern would be too busy and take the focus away from your bump. Avoid wearing anything too trendy you don’t want to look back at your photos and think why did I wear that? I prefer simple flowy dresses or a tighter floor length dress that showcases your bump. Some of my favorite dresses are from Rachel Pally http://www.rachelpally.com, Sew Trendy http://www.sewtrendy.com, and of course Nuova Vita http://www.nuovavita.com.

Pictures last a lifetime so take this moment to cradle your baby bump and take the moment to connect to your baby bump. The twinkle in your heart and eyes will shine through in your photos.
